As my AHTS build was taking a while I decided to get something ready made to play with in the meantime. I looked at Seaports but they seemed to need a lot of work to make half decent, so I opted for the more expensive Southampton (Wyeforce) model. This is a stock photo of the model as it comes.

It comes with a basic 27MHz radio control with just rudder and speed - both props run forward reverse together. After a play on the pond as it was I set about modifying it.
