AHTS Hull Build

Hullsides

31 Aug 2012. Before doing any more on the running gear - mainly the tops of the rudders - I need to establish the deck levels, so prepping for them is next. The insides of the visible parts of the sides were filled with P38 and sanded to smooth out the fibre mat finish. At the stage of this picture I've cut the scuppers and bollard points on the port side.

As mentioned in the second picture (Variation) I am thinking to make this more of a freelanced AHTS and I've done a bit of research by the simple expedient of Googling pictures of the type and saving those that provide a reasonable view of how they look in detail. I couldn't find any with steeply angled bollards like the Aziz, though a couple have the sternmost pair set at a slight angle. And none that I could see have an access cut-out at the front of the working deck. So I remarked my sides to reflect what I think is a more typical layout. The sternmost bollards are raised 10mm off the deck, the other set will be on the deck.
