R/C modification 1

R/C modification 1

The Giantcod (Radiolink T4) 2.4ghz 4-Channel r/c sets from GiantShark are really great value, but have one slight downside for boat use. The throttle is on channel 3 and the R7EH receiver that comes with the set has the 'aero' failsafe on that channel with no means to change it. This means that when the system 'fails', such as when the signal from tx to rx is lost, the throttle is set to zero. For planes this means it glides, but for twin motor boats one of the motors will go flat out backwards.

To improve this I decided to change things around at the receiver plugs so the failsafe channel 3 was used for steering instead of channel 1. The two motors were then moved up from 2 and 3 to 1 and 2. I use 4 for the bow thruster when fitted. But now the sticks were all wrong of course - what I needed was the numbering seen in this picture taken post-mod. This mod needed two steps. (Continued next picture)
