These picture pair just to illustrate a tip. When filing something flush to a surface, such as the bow thruster tube shown here, you don't want to take too much off. I drew a line with a marker pen on the hull around the tubes (left pic) and then filed until the line was just disappearing (right pic), which told me when I was flush with the hull.
